I’m kinda dumb on wiring so I catch on slow. On the speedo wiring do I need to physically rewire it to the cluster (as in manually jump across the ecu)or just pull the ecu and be fine?
You will need to run new wire from the transfer case speed sensor to the cluster, and cruise

What year is the ZF5 and what model transfer case, BW1356?

What engine is in the 2001 Ranger now, if its a 4cyl then you may not need to do anything for speedometer, but long shot if its a 4WD, lol

Using a 1988 zf5 and np205. Currently it has the explorer 5.0/auto setup and I hate it.

1988 Ford NP205 should have a combo unit, VSS and speedo cable hook up in the same unit

And VSS should be 8,000PPM

Ok. The engine I’m using has the same alternator wiring harness as the ranger. Will the alternator and gauge work correctly without the ecu?
