I had a tick in my motor for 17,000 miles.Everyone said it was common..Ha ha.It was a wrist pin.Went out the side of the block. Now I can't find a motor that is even close to me.Now my question. What year motor will fit in my ranger that is a easy swap. Some say 2001 and 2002 is the only year that is a simple bolt in.Is this right? Or can I get a newer motor out of 2002 and up to fit ?Thanks for ur input...idontno

I don't know if there were any changes in computer systems over the years (I'm assuming there weren't) but the 4-cyl engines are all exactly the same from 2001-2008.
