One of my buddys was rocking a mohawk into a big rat tail for awhile.

Poor guy wrecked his body skateboarding. Needed both hips replaced by the time he was 30 because the bone was dead. Big guy too lol 250 and 6'5.. I'm sure that didn't help.

Well.. currently I just have a buzzed head lol. But I've definitely been inspired to rock a mohlett or mulhawk or whatever the proper term is next year haha.

Well fellas, really bummer of a day for this project.

The candy I started to lay down came out like complete shit, it's extremely difficult to get even coverage with candy coming from a spray can. By the time I had the candy looking even, the flake was too buried to shine through. One side came out AWESOME, exactly what I wanted... the top and the other side were absolute trash though. Good learning experience I suppose?

Said F-it, and sprayed that can of rustoleum flake over the top. Way bigger & way more flakes in the rustoleum can. My camera can't take a good picture to save its life apparently... but the brown shows through decently still and the flake is mega shiny. I'm just gonna clear over this and call it good for the year. I just want to ride.

Working with anything other than a solid color paint just plain sucks. I learned that when I painted the windshield visor on my 2011.

After doing some reading.... candy is probably the most difficult "color" to apply. It's just tinted clear, so for a nice even color it needs to be applied perfectly.

The word perfectly isn't in my vocabulary when it comes to paint sadly lol. Having been applied from a spray can definitely didn't help at all either.

I'm gonna try again over the winter I think.. at least partly. I'll strip all the paint off again, epoxy primer everything, spray the base and flake myself then take it to get candied and cleared at the local bike place.

After the deal with the visor, I ain’t doing it again. If it gets bad enough, I’ll pay someone and it will be the whole truck in a solid color paint without all the crap in it.

I find my truck has much better visibility with the windshield un-painted.
