Sorry, I wasn't questioning your intelligence or the two hoods in your possession. I was just wondering if you knew the rhyme/reason why Ford would supply two hoods made out of different material. I guess I should have rephrased my question.

Yep, my 1999 hood is, as duh Brits would say, "al-OOO-min-YUM"... lulz... check my sig-line... wish the whole body was ALuminum, on the same sturdy steel ladder frame--would sink a lot less in sugar sand... kinda sad that a small/medium pickup tops out at almost 4,000 lbs... kudos to FoMoCo Powerplant Engineers for still managing to get decent MPGs out of it.
