I have a 2000 Ranger XLT that needs a bed. Does it have to be from another 2000 for my tail lights to fit or will any other year work??

Any bed from 1993 - 2011 will work and make sure you get the same bed length (short bed to short bed, long bed to long bed). You can swap your tail lights over with no problem.

What plum said. I think that you will need 2000 and newer for matching your taillights, but also noted by Plum, not an issue.
