I have a 1988 2.9L Ranger STX and I was rebuilding the engine. The exhaust manifold bolts all broke off in the heads. I took the heads off and had the bolts burned out, the valves redone, and the head milled flat to put back on. After i put the engine back together I can't seem to get it running. I decided to upgrade to a new truck. I have the headers for the 2.9L and I was wondering if they will fit on a 1991 4.0L? I just bought them a few months ago so I would hate to not be able to use them if possible.

Jonkuli,

Yes you can use the 2.9l headers on a 4.0l. You may have to deal with the "Y" pipe being different and may also have to block off the EGR opening depending on which headers you purchased.
