what r the casting numbers for the 2.9l heads with the better vavle train I know there outta a 1990 1991 ranger with a 2.9l I have an 88 n I have the standard heads that like to crack n warp

89TM is the casting # for the newer heads, There are also 86TM heads that have the same improvements as the 89 TM heads, just look for the rectangular shaped rocker pedestals and the straighter valve cover mating surface on the improved heads

try to get the rocker arm covers too with these heads. the better head isn't as wavey, but almost stright across on both top and bottom. other style works but might leak later.
