2.9 swap to a 3.8 xr7 supercharged ?

hey TRS I was wandering if any of you have any info about puting a 3.8 s in my 1988 ranger 4x4 2.9 does the wiring harness plug right in or a lot of converting ?
I can get a 1990 xr7 that runs and dives strong for under 1000k my truck is a 5speed and so is the car i think the car has a t5 will the t5 bolt up to my transfer case ?

Actually the Supercoupes used a variation of the M5OD-R2 (F-150 trans)
refered to by the designation M5R2.

what makes it different from a normal R2 trans is the shift mechanism is mounted in the tailshaft housing and the trans has internal shift rails and a plain top cover.

It also uses an internal slave cylinder similar (actually identical) to the '88-up Rangers.
