2.9 liter serpentine belt drive

Did any year 2.9 liter have serpentine belt drive if so what year ? If not can 4.0 liter serpentine accessory belt drive be put on 2.9 liter?

No, they came with V-belts. Even if the accessories did fit you would have to change the crank and water pump pulley to be able to run a serpentine belt.

Why are you trying to do this anyways.

the 4.0B2's answer is do a 4.0 swap, the entire motor.... lol

what are you trying to gain from this?

Yes I know you would have to change water pump and crank pulley. I want to do it for easy of maintenance IE belt changes etc. I do not I repeat do not want to do a 4 liter engine swap.

My old 2.9 with v belts was damn easy to change the belts on, converting to a serpentine setup without swapping in the 4.0 you're going to pull the brackets off of is a waste of your time, not to mention you could probably buy a complete 4.0 for the cost of the brackets, pulleys, alternator, water pump, and tensioner you'd need to convert, and you may even need to change the timing cover as well, which would be impossible because a 4.0 one won't fit a 2.9
