will a 2.8 from a 76 capri mount up to a 84 bronco II, already has the 2.8 in it. I figure it should be a straight change. This motor is already duraspark and runs fine.

finally got a chance to see this motor. oil filters on the other side of block, by the right exhuast. all the acc. are backwards. ps pump lower right, alt lower left. ac is in the correct spot. dont know if its worth trying to swap or just take everything off and put it on mine. anybody else know about these motors?

I used to have a 78 motor in my B2. I blew one of the rods. Then got an 84 short block, and put the 78 heads and intake on. Best of both worlds.

I believe you have to change pretty much everything for a long block. While you have it apart put in a new oil pump. I believe the timing chain cover is different also along with the oil pan. You may as well just strip both down to the block and heads. the timing gears are probably good but you may need new water sleeves between the timing cover and the block as they get rusted and are hard to find. Let us know what you find out.
