Just wondering and seeking information about the 2.6 heads. Have a clean 2.6 sitting on shop floor and debating what the heads are in condition wise compared to the work of cleaning up the 2.8 heads that are on the engine that was just tore apart. can not find much if any info about the 2.6 so far in the land of internet wizdoms .... anyone in here know much about the 2.6? and could link to anything of interest i could read? cheers thanks

Wow a 2.6 V6. Wikipedia says it's a Cologne so it might work. I'm not sure if PetroleumJunkie's research into the 2.9 would help or not, but it's worth a read if you haven't seen what he did, as far as research goes. He's no longer active here to answer questions, but he may have already answered a few.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
According to Wiki... It states, "1970–1974 Ford Capri, 1972–1977 Ford Granada, and Ford Capri 2600 RS from 1970 to 1973". The heads from the RS would IMO be the best because they're HP version heads. If the heads are early enough (pre-smog) they might be really decent.

It also stated about the 2.8, " While based on the 2.6, the larger bore necessitated a different block.[2]".

dang, i goofed big time. the other engine is a 2.8 also. so this is actually better as now i have all the extra sets of heads and intake that are in better looking shape than what I took off the old block, so have the 70's style heads and intake for the 80's block. thanks for the comments.
