Theres a guy posting to sell a turbo from a 2.5L Ford mustang....was that 6 cylinder? Hes selling it with the manifold and wastegate.. for $100. If it is a 6 would the manifold bolt right up to my 1997 ford ranger 4.0? merci :D

The 2.5 is a 4 cyl. The V6 that was in the mustang is a 3.8 (90* "V"). The 4.0 in your ranger is 60* "V". Won't work. Now if it is the new mustang with the SOHC 4.0 V6 and your 97 was a SOHC V6 then it might work.

Actually, the engine is a 2.3L turbo. Not familiar with that engine but it may be possible to bore it out to 2.5L

The 2.5 crank rods may not like a turbo due to they are made out of compressed aluminum powder.

Rods are forged like the 2.3T rods... They're all the same... The only difference in a 2.3T and a 2.3NA is the forged pistons in the turbo motor... 2.5L isn't a bored out 2.3L it's stroked... Could either be a (1)mistype, (2)stroked 2.3T, or (3)turbo'd 2.5L... You hope that it is #1... That way you can swap the whole thing... Everything else is a no... Anything can be done with money though...
