DR, did you ever change the fluid in the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder ? .

Did I fail or begin to squeak or what ? .

What engine does your 2001 have ? .

I know you can't see the rivets but you might be able to see the side of the friction disc through the gaps in the pressure plate, I happen to have an engine with clutch on a pallet and a friction disc in a box to get an idea on thickness at that point... if I'm thinking right you might be able to flatten a piece of bare copper wire (I is a redneck) to that thickness and get a guestimate...
