Hi I have a 2.3 turbo in a 94 Ranger I got the truck second hand and I believe the Motor is from an early 80's Thunderbird.
it already blew a head gasket and needs some attention and other repairs. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the turbo and fuel injection setup and go Mini Stock style with a carburator and header setup?I guess what im asking will that engine run without the Turbo setup? if so will I also have to change or delete the ECU in there now? or do any change in wiring harness other than delete some things?

Thank you for any help

What would the ECU be controlling on a carb? :icon_confused:

Why in the hell would you want to destroy what many of us consider a dream build?

Just go find a N/A 2.3 Lima if you want a carb. I'll happily take the 2.3T off your hands. ?

Why would you remove a working EFI system and replace it with a carb?

So I don't actually know much about 2.3 engines. But I think you should have no problem going to carb. There is a tech section at the top of every page. Check it out, it has some very in depth articles on a variety of subjects, including the 2.3.
