2.3 clutch compatibility

Hi, I am in need of a new clutch for my 89 ranger 2.3 with an m5r1 trans. however due to the lack of funds i am considering going to the junk yard and trying to find a donor vehicle with low miles. Ive read that all 88 and on 2.3s use the m5r1 trans and was wondering if the clutch components are the same through the years? any help would be greatly appericatied thanks -Dave

bad idea. get a remanufactured clutch kit at the least. if you go used it will cost you double because you'll just have to re do it.
