the lima and perky 4 banger engine is the og....so lima is og... not cologne.

the current ranger is all ranger. for north america i guess its a 4th gen...??? its a world ranger....but its continuous.

so for us here in yankee-ville i guess its subjective and just senseless friendly argument to what it is......

there is tib/ttb chassis and sla chassis and that is the technical cut line.....2 generations.

but really its three....because the cab rating and structure/size changed in 93-97 making it a different truck. the hvac....firewall...crash rigging, modular frame ect....

i still have not put my doors on or took my fat bastard tires off......just wandering around a few hours a day getting dirt bike stuff....

To send it or not to send it, that is the question.
I drive mine when I'm able to, but it will be a daily driver.... once I get the intake back on because I took it off to replace gaskets and hopefully stop one of the leaks

I'm still driving my 86 2.0 5 speed everyday. I've owned it for 3 years. Had 119k on it when i got it, 165 on it now. Original motor and transmission. Just replaced the original shocks and springs in June. When i got it, it still had all the vacuum spaghetti and the smog system still worked and it had all the original belts and hoses. Manual brakes and steering. No radio.

After about a year of driving it 60 miles a day all that stuff took a dump on me and the little vacuum lines started breaking so now it looks like every other 80s ford under the hood. It's about the most miserable vehicle I've ever driven but the damn thing wont die.

My 83 wasn't great on gas. It was gutless but fun to drive. Guess the 4 speed didn't help with the MPGs. I still wish I had it...

Did the 2.0 ever get s 5 speed? Would it even move in O/D?

I have no idea if they put any out with 5spds. I doubt it would be useful, maybe with a good tailwind. I could wind out the 4 spd pretty good. Hence the gas mileage.

I had a 77 Pinto with a 2.3 and a 4 spd stick too. I could get that up to 85? (topped out the speedo). No power anything. I sort of inherited it but we got it just under $3k right from the dealer brand new. didn't even have a radio or cig lighter.

The 2.0 was available up until 1988 and I'm sure it got a 5 speed after 1986? or so. I've only seen one of them over the years. Geared correctly, I don't think it'd be much worse to drive than a 2.3 truck.

Been dd’ing mine as the F-150 has a weird misfire that will not set a check engine light/code. Probably a coil pack dying, it would be nice to know which one...

Quite a few people still driving 1st gen RBV's here where I live in southern Idaho. Many people here love them because if you are into hunting, fishing, etc. they fit on those tight backroads trails unlike today's bloated vehicles.
