I'm looking for the pin outs of the 42 pin engine to body connector for a 1998 ranger 2.5 and also a 2000 expo 5.0 I've heard I'll need to swap some pins to make them work together and would like to have the info before I pull my truck in to start the swap

I can offer no advice except from what I can tell and read and have heard, the 4 cyl. rangers wiring for a EFI v8 swap is a beech! I am in the info gathering and parts and truck purchasing stage right now, and I have found a ton of 4 banger rangers for a good v8 swap, but it appears the wiring is the hard part. I couldn't find anyone or info who has successfully done this swap.. not saying it cant be done, but I have found no info on the wiring part of it.

I would highly recommend purchasing the EVTM's for both vehicles. They can be found on eBay for $15.00 or so. They will be very valuable in sorting things out along the way and confirming a lot of advice you receive here. Going from memory there are only a couple splices at the 42 pin connector with the 98 Ranger/2000 Explorer. Seems like I had to loop the wire for the DTR sensor at the trans and maybe splice in the wire for the oil pressure sensor.

I also had to splice in the ac cycling switch, ac high pressure switch, and alternator to the battery junction box/harness. The passenger side O2 sensor to the engine/auto trans harness.
