I want to install new cruise control buttons, the one on the right and the one on the left side of the steering wheel center area.
O'Reilly has the two button set for $131.00, Motorcraft.
Before the button on the left broke from age, the cruise worked perfectly. The foam part of the left button cracked and crumbled where you press to set.
Here's what I don't know . . .
Are these tricky to replace?
Should the battery be disconnected first?
Will replacing them create a need to re-set something else somewhere?
Any general cautions about replacing these?

My Ranger has 230,000 miles and runs great!

Since the airbag has to be removed from the steering wheel to get at the mounting screws for the pods, definitely disconnect the battery before proceeding.
