Trying to replace the EGR Valve and I wanted to clean the tube at the same time. I bought an adjustable wrench and am trying to remove the nut from the exhaust manifold, but i'm failing super hard right now. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove this tube from the exhaust?

My credo
If you didn't build it; it's not really yours
If you must remove it use a good penetrating oil (I like Kroil but you can make your own) over a period of days. Try to remove it when it's a little warm.
If it was mine I think I would leave it be.

X2. Lots of penetrating oil and time if you really feel the need to remove the tube. I would try to get a fixed wrench of the correct size or a good crows foot and a 1/2” breaker bar.

Personally, if it doesn’t need to come off, I would let it be.

Get a MAPP gas or propane torch and heat the fittings. Add some candle wax, it will seep into the threads, or add some penetrating oil.

Once heated, not to cherry red, but hot, apply force to remove the fitting. If it does not turn immediately, try turning to tighten just a bit. You might break the threads loose going in both directions. You can try cycling the heat multiple times, each time adding some wax or penetrant.
Best is to leave it in place if you can. The tube and fittings are easy to twist and deform using the amount of force necessary to get the fittings(top and bottom) to move.
