Gonna have to replace my tachometer (truck has 199,250), but do not want to replace the original odometer, and not sure which years will interchange. I need the backside-mechanical-parts of the tachometer. Does anybody have one to sell/get rid of, so I can use the mechanism on the original instrument cluster with it's original mileage? Thank you in advance.

In a 94 dash, the Tach, Speedo, Volts & Coolant temp, Oil Press & Fuel level are all separate pieces of the cluster. When you pull the cluster out of the dash, then take the clear plastic piece off, each piece comes out individually. I would recommend getting another tach piece from same model of truck at junkyard.

89-94 Rangers, 89-90 BIIs, 91-94 Explorers all use the same dash. You will need one out of a 4cyl tho, so that limits you to rangers.

I took the clear plastic cover off-after removing the dashplate, radio, etc.-and it apearred it was one solid piece with individual relay units on the backside of the one piece front. Is this what you mean?

My tach on my 91 Explorer said "4.0 only". Just be aware of that.
