oh a lot of sellers are. The kid I bought my ‘94 from claimed it was a ‘97 in the ad, a quick look at the door tag confirmed it was a ‘94. I was told it had a/c but was removed, yes theres a spot on p/s bracket to mount a compressor but they are all like that. The fan shroud was clearly marked “cooling system not equipped for a/c”. there was no extra fittings on heater box and the heater controls have no max a/c postion and the fan knob doesnt push in (for “a/c- on”). Im sure this truck was his first car and he was just looking for something better, it was in bad shape -fixable but extensive. He also thought it had 400,000+ miles on it. Sure it was over 100k but it didn’t have that extra digit. I wasn’t worried, let the title show 400K, It was shortly before my divorce and having a truck of that age with 400K miles meant it was worth nothing as far as assets were concerned. Later I did find a older registration behind the glove box door, showed the year before it had 130K, so its safe to say it had 140K when I bought it. Id like to show that kid the ranger I bought from him, I think he would be quite surprised.
