Hey guys I’m building a 1994 ford ranger street truck mainly for the drag strip, I’m installing the 5.3L and ran into an issue with the Steering gearbox and Steering shaft hitting my forward facing turbo headers, I think I’m trying to set my motor to low on the mounts @ 3” from the frame, I don’t care about cutting the truck floor up to make this work but any ideas on the maximum height I can go to make this work? Or maybe extending my gearbox out and getting a custom steering shaft made?

Any room to shift the motor sideways?

May or may not help, here is a single turbo LS swap build.

yeah I can move the motor to the left more but not sure if it was going to start messing with my rear end alignment or how much it could be off without breaking my driveshaft

For '98+ solid axle swaps (trucks that have rack and pinion steering) I have heard of people using a Toyota steering box that sits outside the frame... you might check into that.

Look up @bobbywalter he has a 6.5L diesel in his truck. He has a lot of knowledge on swaps and different steering boxes and maybe the answer is in one of his threads. He's not on site much tho.
