Hey guys, having an issue with my quick connection blowing off when pressing the clutch. I bought the truck off an older guy that tinkered a lot. My biggest question is do I use the plastic collar that is used to push the line off the internal barbed fitting, when I have a smooth fitting with locking clip? Could that plastic collar be my problem the whole time? Seems it doesn't need the collar if there's no internal locking on the female coupler?

Its a pre-1993 slave and a post 1993 Master hose

Not sure the the clip can grip that fitting tight enough or maybe clip or fitting is round off too much
You could put in an older Master, say 1991, or if you can find an older hose................

Watch video to see difference

So if I buy a pre bled 1991 master cylinder assembly, I should be able to route the hose to the slave and solve my issue?

You will just need to have a look, Ford changed the fitting around 1992, AROUND being the key word

Are the pre 1992 hoses themselves interchangeable with the 1994 master cylinder?

Never tried, but I don't see why not, just the fitting at the end of the hose was changed

That's what I was hoping. The connection to the master would be the same. I know the 94 master bolts up properly to My firewall and clutch pedal - the pre 92 appears different

Alright so I got in a new hydraulic line from a supposed 1991 and it has a plastic coupler. I'm guessing this isn't going to work either?
