Nice find! Been a while since I ran across a Navajo.

$2800 seems like a decent price too.

Looks to me like it's rather smoky. The first thing I do when inspecting a vehicle is swipe inside the tailpipe with my finger, if it comes out black that's about all I need to know

It is looking good for 30 years old. My mom bought a 60s Rambler in the later mid 70s that was almost showroom. Some friends of theirs had bought it new in case either of them had car trouble and needed to use it, but it had set unused in the garage all those years, and when they learned mom needed a car they gave it to her cheap

My guess is the "smoke" is just condensation... but who knows.

If it is and a test drive said it felt pretty solid... that's a sweet deal. Someone could make a pretty cool toy...

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

What does that tell you? 'Soot' is to be expected with ICE.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.

This can indeed be a useful diagnostic.

If your finger comes out black or brown, lick it.

If it tastes like licorice, oil is getting past the rings or valve seals.

If it tastes like cherry coke, coolant is passing into the combustion chamber.

If it tastes like shit, you've obviously been sticking your finger up the wrong tailpipe.

Can't argue with science . . . .

You reckon they think it helps if you can 'see' it run. No matter what it is, I wouldn't choose that photo to put in an ad, unless maybe it blew up right after that photo was taken.

Why should I pay someone else to screw it up when I can screw it up myself for free?

I saw a local CL ad for a 'runs great' 2001 Ranger. They had just washed it and took the photo while wet so the paint would look better. What they didn't bother to do was move the truck out of the driveway where it's old 16" dia. oil leak was clearly obvious.

Quite true there Blmpkn, that hasn't crossed my mind for quite a while now, but it will be soon enough I suppose :) Stevie Nicks has died :/
