The time has come to find a new owner for my SAS'd 1992.

4.0 v6
98,000 miles
Leaf sprung high steer Dana 30 SAS
31-spline explorer 8.8, locked
c5 trans
sitting on 35x12.5r15 tires

The reason for selling is that the truck served it's purpose to me. I wanted to build a SAS Ranger for the challenge; mission accomplished. I never was able to carve time out to take it serious off roading anywhere. Just some mild trails and bouncing around.

I have had no luck selling the truck locally... obnoxiously, everyone wants it for a winter beater. I have had no serious interest so far and I find myself frustrated; I invested so much time and money into the truck, only for people to want to drive it through the salt and slush until it falls apart. But, that is neither here nor there.
This truck needs a good home.

Since abandoning my build thread on this site, I made bumpers for the truck, including front winch, full exhaust, buttoned up the SAS, and installed an Aussie locker in the 8.8.
The original a4ld crapped out, I replaced it with a c5 three speed. Floor shifter installed.

NEEDS:
Tires. BFG rot from sitting.
The c5 needs some work. I do not believe it is major. Maybe a torque converter.

My listing on FB marketplace can be seen here.

My original build thread can be seen here.

I will be uploading photos here to this post ASAP.

I am asking $4k, or best offer.

thanks, please feel free to ask any questions about the truck!

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
4k in ny maybe .. it's a nice looking rig..👍. I would have to drive it to really evaluate it.

Rust has already set in . Be tough to get 2k right now in mi with it being lifted. If it was bone stock it would be worth more ..

Because trucks are way up. You may get more then 4k in the right place. With the rust level...I don't see how anybody but the builder would want to not use it as a winter ride or plow rig. If a guy does that they will nurse it along for quite a few years to come.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Probably near Rochester, NY

Thanks for the feedback!

The truck is in Brockport NY about 20min west of Rochester.

I realize I am being hopeful with the price, open to any offers. I believe it is worth it the right person, but I also hate to see the truck sit idle any more.

Yes the rust... Here in NY everything is crusty. Lol. The bedside wheel wells are the most obvious areas. Also some along doors and cab corners. I replaced the floorpans.
