So I was under the truck the other day and noticed that I have a Dana 35 front axle but only a 7.5 rear I was always under the assumption that if it had a 4.0 or a Dana 35 in it that it had a 8.8 regardless I have a 8.8 out of a 92 explorer just wondering if ford did his

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Check the door sticker for the axle codes. Then check the axles and gears section on the "how to tech" page of this site. There are charts and instructions there for deciphering the axle codes. That will tell you exactly what Ford did. There is a whole bunch of other cool info, too.

Damn, dude. You get some sweet deals down there. Nothing’s free (or even affordable) up here.

So the trany gave out in the ranger and apparently everyone wants 40lbs of gold for one so I've been looking for a 5spd to put in it with no luck

As the the truck stands now
32503

32504

32505

32506

nothing special happened unfortunately i did install a 5spd and a manual transfer case and as you can see i installed 31s with stock lift.

i did not buy the other truck as i would have just wasted my time it was block lift in the rear and drop brackets up front i dont do blocks and if im gonna do a lift it might as well be long arm or sas

the plans for this truck has changed im no longer doing the d44 as i well not be wheeling this truck off road so its getting a d30 and 8.8 with disc brakes as for the motor im still torn from a mild build v8 or a turbo diesel either 4bt or a Volkswagen 1.9 or 2.0 but as time goes it may all change again

what i do know is that i am taking the 5spd out and putting it into my explorer i had plans to drive the ex and rebuild the ranger anyways rust is starting to show and i needed a new dd in order to strip it down
