I want to replace my bench seat with an easy to mount 60/40 bench or buckets. Can someone help me out.

If you have a manual you might consider getting explorer buckets, trading the seat rails (brackets) and then putting in a 3rd gen center console (short) as that will give you a place to put down your coffee when you shift gears.

I found some eddie bauer (nicest trim level) cloth ones and put them in my 90 replacing the stock 60/40 bench seat.

Just in case you skimmed the article and didn't read thoroughly explorer seats will work up till 2001, in 2002+ they made em wider and you can't shut the doors if you get them.

The hard part will be finding bucket seat brackets for a regular cab as they're not horribly common but yeah other than that grab whatever seats you can... your most likely to find a set of Ranger brackets already on a 60/40 seat which is better than the bench but yeah the adjustable bolster Explorer buckets are nicest and bolt right on.

The seat brackets should just need the holes drilled in the floor in dimples that are already there. If you're lucky you already have a support on the bottom of the cab for the back bolts but if not it would be worth adding a piece of 1" angle iron across that row of bolts, my cab floor started to bow after a bunch of years of use without, if I think about it this weekend I'll see if I can get a picture of what I did since I don't remember off hand other than it just involved some bolts and a stick of 1" angle iron...

One other point not in that article (maybe I should ping Jim to add it)... the hard Halo style (Escort GT) can move back about 1" more than any other so you 6'4" 200# gorrillas want those for the extra leg room.

As far as sourcing parts, I have used the 'yard in Aurora quite a bit (I used to live on havana and yale, just inside denver city limits):

Looks like that '92 is a standard cab so probably has 60/40 or buckets (the solid 1 piece bench was rare - surprised you have that and so does that '88) so there is your brackets... repeat that same search with explorer/tempo/tracer/escort/linx/mustang/etc etc depending on your wants.
Temp/Topaz in the LTS trim had heated seats - or at least mine did, explorer eddie bauer as mentioned, but you loose all the electric adjust when you swap brackets (lumbar still works if you get seats with lumbar that the switch isn't busted and you run power to em).

Thanks Y’all, I am assuming you are meaning 1991 thru 2000 Ford Explorer buckets?

Mike I have an 83' project truck. I built it years ago from the help of this site. V8 truck with upgraded front and rear from explorer, James duff suspension and body lifts. If you might know someone that would be interested.

91 through 2001 (whole first and second generation of explorers)... and technically from the wiki the 2nd gen had some weird (up to '93) overlap with 3 door vs. 5 door... I've never seen a 3 door explorer in the 'yard as an adult, when I was a kid one of my family's friends had one but I was way too young to care anything about it.
