I'm currently in the process of restoring a 1989 2.9 Ranger with a 4x4 frame. I wanted to get some insight on what all is needed to remove the Cab as it looks pretty simple however I would hate to have had missed something while trying to take the Cab off with forks. If you know of anything or have some insight on what can stay attached to the Cab and what I need to remove, let me know. Any help is appreciated as I'm a little new to the scene. I've been putting together a list, I can't seem to find where the main disconnect is for the Cab wiring harness through the firewall. Is behind the firewall?

1. Radiator Hoses/ Heater Core Hoses
2. Steering Knuckle
3. Shift Boot/Shifter
4. Cab Wiring Harness
5. Brake line to the Master Cylinder
6. Clutch Line/Reservoir
7. Cab Bolts

My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.

It's at the firewall. Loosen the bolt in the center of the connector on the engine side and the bulkhead connector will separate.

Don't forget the battery main cables, and there should be a grounding strap up high, between the motor and firewall.

Just go slow when pulling the cab. There is almost always something that gets forgotten about or missed and I doubt you'll want to test the tensile strength of whatever it is.

When I did mine the one getter was the cable between the two center seat belt buckles that goes around a crossmember...

You'll have the reverse switch and transfer case connectors too
