It was like that when I found it.
If I were closer I'd just give them the 3250 and cart it home.

My first ranger was a ‘88 2wd supercab. Loved it, put over 100K on it. Best 2.3 Ive ever had, got 23mpg on average and a best of 29. Think I had it 7 or 8 years.

Looks like bidding has ended. Was that you?
Yes and no. Winner is a no show. Deferred to me.

Negotiated price down to 1200. Told him I'd let him know by this evening whether I'd take it.

Deferring to yall.

OK. It looks like a decent truck and the price isn't bad.

First generation trucks are getting somewhat scarce. This one looks to be relatively unmolested.

I'd look at it as, and pose the question to the seller as, "Is it in such good condition that I can drive it xx hundred miles home?" (regardless of how you plan on getting it home).

If I was looking, at $1200 I'd be tempted on this one, although having an auto (A4LD) is a strike against it, in my book.

Looking at it as a sheet metal donor for a 1988 I have with a rebuilt (stock) 2.9 and FM146.

It took a tree to the roof at one point, so needs a cab and doors. Frame is solid tho.

As much as I hate to say it, for that price the truck would make a good donor for that, and it looks like it's got a basically decent interior.

If the A4LD is fully functional (or even functional at all!) I think it would be worth something to somebody. And then that leaves you with a running 2.9 and a bed (with a scratch or crease PS); good spares or more potential sale material.

Not sure what the laws are in Dirtman's Basement, but I have to wonder, on a body swap if the VIN would be the cab, or if would be the frame and drivetrain.

Food for thought, anyways . . .

I believe it follows the cab in my state, so no big deal.

That's how I saw it as well. A Georgia 1st gen frame has a lot of value up here, and I can get a few hundred out of the a4ld.

The ad says the title is clean, and parts are starting to dry up for these old trucks. Sold right, the left over parts could possibly pay for the cost of the truck. :stirthepot:
