1988 Ford Ranger Colors

I found this brochure on eBay and I thought I'd share the colors.

They are in Order of the picture as well.
Thought this may help with some of you guys doing factory paint jobs, or were curious as to what your truck was painted.

No problem. I tried to see what the brochure says as far as Options and whatnot, but wasn't able to veiw the whole page. I am' going to try to get the full brochure off of ebay and the 1988 Ford Ranger Acessories booklet. I want to find a Factory rollbar and bull bar.

My color is Bright Regatta Blue with Silver single two-tone.

A Friend of mine looked this up for me at his shop. These should help anyone who is wanting to figure out what's on their trim tag as far as Paint Codes go.

Awesome. I need to see what mine is..I believe it's the bright regetta blue.

The thing is, where can you get the paint to match? If I could just paint my bed, it would be so much easier for me. My fenders are rotted and I need to repaint soon.

The problem is that while your truck was "Bright Regetta Blue Clearcoat Metallic" 25 years ago, it is probably a couple clicks lighter now. If somebody repainted it in the past they might not have gotten the right color either.

You are going to need it color matched at a bodyshop to get it right (and not much looks worse that paint that doesn't match between bodypanels)

I always wondered how that worked in a couple years though, because then they won't be fading at the same rate...

Where'd you get that brochure? I have been looking on eBay and I can't find one for my 88'. I found an' accessories one. But it covered All Ford Trucks. Not the Ranger specificly. What's in the brochure exactly? Like, paint, options, ect.

There was a guy at a swap meet that had tables of brochures, since a old Ranger isn't highly sought after it was pretty cheap... around $5 I think.

It pretty much goes through all the frills and thrills of the '85 trucks. What the packages (XL, XLT...) include, stuff about the powertrain, wheels, list of extra options... it is pretty neat, I recommend you keep looking.

Hi, I have an 1988 XLT "two tone" paint option. Body color is Light Chestnut, but the secondary color (lower band on both sides of the truck) is kind of matte black that in my opinion look like a non "factory" color. Any idea of where I can find the correct color combination?

There was originally a sticker on the drivers side door in the jam area that has the paint codes listed that might help you find out if it is original or not.

I just can say TANKS!!!!

I check the sticker and found on the "color" line, a "9T" which is Light Chestnut and far away but on the same line a "97" which is Dark Chestnut Clearcoat Metallic !

The combination of both chestnut colors for sure will look a lot better than the Light Chestnut-Matte Black some "inspired" FO paint it.

I am trying to go strictly factory original on the entire truck. Will post some pictures as soon we can bring she back home from the transmission shop ( fluid leak... need new seal after many years abandoned on a barn).
