Hey, I got a 1988 2.0l carb engine what can i put in it to increase HP, torque and just over all power? I know I can buy a new carb, exhaust, and a K&N air filter but what else can I do and what kind of carb works the best?

I found a donor truck but does it matter if it's a 4x4 and mine is a 2wd?

Hmmmm...I wouldn't waste any money on boring out a 2.0...I was told it's not a good idea due to the thinner walls on the pistons, but that was a long time ago...

You can swap in a 2.3 that has been punched and stroked...and use a slightly better carb system like the holley 350 on an 86 EFI intake (needs an adaptor)...

If you're OK with motor swaps then that might be a cheaper way to go...I'm kinda fond of the 4 bangers, but they are a bit underpowered...

you asked about how to swap a 2.9 V-6 in it,it would be just as easy to swap a 4.0 V-6 in it,you would need a donor vehicle that has a 4.0 in it ,then you would need the engine, trans, engine wiring loom, computer, and change the fuel pump and lines to fuel inj.
