I have a ‘86 Ranger 2.3, 5spd, 2wd that runs well most of the time but will occasionally start to stall and or cut off while driving. It will start back if I keep it rolling kind of like a bump start. Sometimes it does it multiple times others it is a little miss then runs fine the rest of the time.
I went and bought a Innova Ford code reader today and these are the codes it pulled:
KOEO
84o
18c
KOER
34c
13c
77c
25c
28
I am not that familiar with this computer system and don’t want to waste a lot of time and money just throwing parts at the problem. I may have done the test incorrectly so if any of the codes look odd please speak up.
Thanks for looking,
T-Rey
While doing the KOER test I noticed that I had no check engine light. Part of this test, from what I have seen online, you need to rev the engine when prompted by the CEL. I have pulled the gauge cluster and I have no CEL on the circuit board. Tracing the circuit board to the plug on the harness it isn’t pined for a CEL either. Didn’t all EFI rangers come with a CEL?
