Hello,

This may be a common question, but I have a leaking sunroof on an 84' Ranger. I bought the truck from a friend and have done a lot of work on it. One of the last things is the damn sunroof leaking. Is there a place where I can buy a new or refurb sunroof? I've looked online and haven't found anything. Although I am glad I found this forum! I have always liked the older Ranger box look and finally I got my hands on one. I will post before and after pics soon. I am going to paint it flat black with black rims. Anyway hopefully somebody has some suggestions for me. The previous owner caulked the hell out of the sunroof and it still leaks so. Thanx! :icon_welder:

That is actually a very uncommon question because it is a very uncommon option. I've never actually seen on myself.

In my experience with sunroof leaks is that it's rarely the glass or seal. Most sunroofs have a drain around the edges because it is hard to get a perfect seal on a hole in the roof. The drain tubes plug with dirt, then they overflow.

Check and see if you have a drain track, then pour a little water in it to test the tubes. If you don't have a drain track and do need a new window or seal contact a local auto glass shop, that will probably be your best bet. It will likely be something that has to be custom made though.

I was unaware that was an option, I have one but thought for sure it was aftermarket.i have not done the work yet but I bought a complete roof section from the salvage yard. It had a nice liner and visors also which is good due to mine were shot. I just need to cut the patch out and fill the hole.
