I was looking for motor mounts and the ones specified for my 2.3 don't look like the ones actually in my truck. The ones Rockauto suggests are roundish with three posts to mount to the frame. Mine look more like the ones suggested for the 2.8 V6. I plan to just order the V6 ones and go from there, but figured I'd check and see if anyone else has been through this already and knows exactly what will/will not fit.

My '87 2.0 used mounts like the V6 ones you pictured. 2.0 and 2.3 share all the same basic mounts and things.

I finally got around to doing these. I ordered some of the v6 ones but they were obviously not going to fit once I had them sitting next to the ones in the truck. Then I ordered the ones above after returning the v6 ones. They didn’t work either. I was able to get a NOS right mount off eBay and that worked ok, but haven’t been able to find a left one. Anything else that might use these? It seems weird that they are so hard to find. But I’m wondering if my ranger was an early one with some different parts. Here’s a picture of the left one I took out.

No mine are wedge shaped. The picture in my post is the one I pulled out of my truck.

Yep I’m thinking mine is an early one or something. It has different I beams up front too. I found one that looks right in the picture; the little pegs look to be in the right spots relative to the studs. It’s specified for an 85 manual 2wd with the 2.3. We will see if it works. Hurry up and wait...

So I finally got one that fits. The part is Anchor 2786 for the left motor mount and was listed for a 1985 Ranger w/ 2.3. The puck shaped ones are listed for that year as well. Maybe Ford had some off and on supply chain issues?
