No, it's not. The truck needed help from a winch to get up part of the climb. It did NOT get up the entire climb under it's own power. Therefore, it can NOT make it up Pike's Peak.
Winching once on a 12,000 ft climb isnt unacceptable. A new truck woulda been so hung up on stuff they woulda burned a winch up.

A Power Wagon would thrash an old truck on the rocks...

Went back the next day, and it had been sold, was gone. Didn't last 3 days on the lot.
Yup, looked it up and your right...no 460 available in a 4x4. Didn't actually see it other than a drive by. Gone went I went back. Probably a swap. Add stated it was a 460 but might have been a 400 ci.

Alot of 400s magicallly become 460s when its selling time. Same way with 360s becoming 390s.

400 to 460 is a bolt in swap and alot of the swaps pry happend 30 years ago so they assume it wss factory after the truck changed hands 5 times.

Just the right size to touch the ground.
I've never compared a 400 to a 460 as far as mount locations or bell housing patterns is concerned. They may be the same, IDK, but they are definitely not in the same engine family.

A 460 is a direct bolt in for a 351M/400.

Yes the 351M/400 are "335 series" engines and the 429/460 are "385 series" but mounting and bellhousings are the same.

That being said there were some early 400s with a windsor bell pattern, sometimes reffered to as the "400fmx" but there wasnt very many built.
