180° thermostat in 2.9l v6

180° thermostat or 192°

i saw in the description/upgrade list of the 2.9l v6 forum it said install 180° thermostat, is this a good thing to do or should i stick with a 192° thermo?

The 2.9 is pretty much what it is with the stock processor.

And they really do thier job well.

If you upgrade to mega squirt and some gm sensors, then hci and porting ...deck the heads and block...maybe some pistons might be worth the effort.


Anything with a tunnel ram on it from the factory has to be good.

Get a hi flow if you want. I like mine, but I also have a tiny assed rad and tons of fans for moar coolings. Setup works well.

Stock 8DT brain box doesn't like the 180 thermostat. Dumps fuel to it constantly.

No, it doesn't make it more gofasts.

Anything with a tunnel ram on it from the factory has to be good.
You could go fancy assed like I did and do the dual snorkel Euro plenum.

But listen to Bobby. They're impressive with a megasquirt. Respond well to methanol as well.

i’ve got some thread sealant, if i goo it up real good it should be good i think
