1 thing I did notice though is the coolant tubes from the engine that connect to the heater core are right next to heater box to the point that I won't be able to connect any hoses.am i supposed to cut them back to fit or should I adjust engine more in engine compartment to try to compensate for this? haven't really found any threads on here that people had this issue on the 80s rangers.

What tubes are you using?

I tried using one from my crown vic engine and it was no dice, they go back and hit the firewall before they are close to sitting on the studs. I have heard Explorer 5.0 ones fit the best but I haven't had the ambition to drag them out of an Explorer yet to try and haven't came across a car where someone has done it for me. :dntknw:

You wouldn't be out much, the explorer ones kick up at 90 degrees.

I just used regular heater hose, the tubes are on my to-do list but they are a ways down from the top.

So u connected one hose directly to the water pump on one side and where on the on the other?since sensor is thread to the tube and intake?and your saying explorer tube may still not work for me?

SVT - Thank you so much for sharing your efforts on this for us Newbs!! I am just starting my V8 swap and your picture showing the fitment of the Serp belt system in the engine bay of your Ranger confirms that this arrangement will fit in my 1991 Ranger V8 Swap project. Please keep taking pictures and update us with the progress of your build.

Thanks!!
