I have a 1993 Ranger 2WD with stock 14" wheels and tires. I've read the post and seen the DJM kits for 3/4 drops. I've also seen the Eibach springs that lower cars 1" to 1.5". I would rather have a subtle, barely noticable drop rather than a lowrider. Is it possible to come down just an inch or two? Do I have any options? Thanks.

Read up aLOT on cutting your coils and the camber adjusters that you would need for that route. Also read up on a hangar/shackle flip in the back.

Those will give your truck a 2" lower stance (give or take a bit) but it won't be level or dropped.

It's by FAR the cheapest way to lower it a bit. (The next step is beams. The beams will start at around $300 for just those if you want to go that route)

Just be sure to do your reading and homework!!!

I'm in the same situation, I'd like to just get a mild amount of drop. My 91 2wd has 20's on it now, and I think the DJM 3/4 will be to much drop, so I'm doing some lookin into 1.5"-2" drop myself............ only coming up with spring cutting so far and I'm not to crazy about that idea. Wish there were a beam kit for a 1.5"-2" drop.

You can buy lowered springs. They will give you that 2" of drop you want without having to mess with factory coils.

You'll still have to do the camber adjusters though...

Id rather spend the extra $$ and avoid the lowered springs and the camber situation. Seems like the beams are a safer and better option anyway.

There is nothing wrong with getting just coils. I ran that way for two years and didn't have the aftermarket eccentrics. My coils did sag by the end to where I needed them, but I didn't drive too much so I didn't worry about it. I have the coils and beams now with the aftermarket eccentrics and no issues. Which engine do you have? You may be able to install a set of springs from a Splash model and they were lowered by 1" from the factory for the Gen III Rangers.

It's a miracle, he brought a 4 year old thread back from the grave. Somebody give this man a prize!

Seriously dude I know we give people crap about searching, but they also need to pay attention to the last post date. If the last post is over a two years (actually I'd say a year) old is definitely ok to start a new thread, but only after you've read the old thread.

Don't believe so. I know this subject came up once this year either here or on RPS. Can't recall the reason, but the springs were different enough that they wouldn't work. It was either different diameter or different height.

I agree, except in the case that someone is wanting to lower the ass end of a ranger so that it's nearly level.

I hate rake where the back is higher by more than an inch or so...

HEY! It's my job to post on ancient threads!

I'd go 2" lower (Vendors at TRS sell the coils that will fit) for a mild drop that is barely noticeable...your truck sits high in the first place.....

3" drop below on 1989 XLT:
