Hello, I have an 06 Ranger with a 4.0 and i think my fuel pump is going bad. It has 71k on it and last summer we replaced a buddy of mines fuel pump on a 2000 mazda truck at around the same milage . the reason i think mine is going is that when I try to rev my 4.0 it chocks out at 3000 rpm. Unless there is a rev limiter on it? I will probably change the filter first and see what that does. It still drives well though. I do not drive it much in the winter due to salt causing rust but i was trying to see if my water pump was leaking and i reved the engine and found It would not rev past 3 grand . however it will shift and drive at higher revs. Am I nuts or what.
