I need a new radiator and I want to upgrade for more cooling power. Is there a swap I can do for a bigger radiator

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
The only one that might be bigger, and I don't know for sure, would be the rad from a V8 Sport Trac assuming from your profile you have an 07. Make sure the radiator inlet and outlet are in the same places as the V6.

In an 04, no, there is no quick easy "upgrade" that I am aware of.

The 1st gen ST more closely resembles a 3rd Gen Explorer, so the rad from an IRS Explorer is out.

The 4.0 and 5.0 rads from a gen3 Explorer have different part numbers, but I can't find an actual difference, and all the catalogs have are stock photos, pretty generic by the looks of it.

You can use a 5.0 explorer radiator, I’ve personally done it ....
The radiator is a natural fit and no modification is needed except for the removal of the cradle the ac condenser sits in. Aside from that the radiator is bigger and does keep her nice and cool!
When I swapped my 4.0 out in favor of a 5.0 in my 02 sport trac I didn’t want to chance it so I used a 5.0 radiator and it’s nice.
Now I have a v6 sport trac with a 5.0 radiator and a 5.0 sport trac with the same radiator.
I say go for it
