When I punched in a 2004 Ford Ranger in www.car-part.com and selected front driveshaft, it did not ask me what model, engine, transmission, or anything else like that. It took me directly to a list and the list included 1998 through 2008 trucks as fitting.
Their interchange is not without it's mistakes, but is usually fairly accurate.
