Not sure if this is the correct location just seems to not fit any where else.

Got my bike going again after a new spark plug and draining the tank and filling with fresh gas mix. The problem is that it will not idle. I have to give it gas so that it doesn't die. It has all the power but its just at idle.

I'm going to try cleaning the carb and air filter and see if that helps. Anyone know anything about this stuff. I don't really know anything about this kind of stuff. Thanks for all the help.

well i dont think this bike is stock at all. I can "almost" keep up with a crf250 4stroke. Once he hits 5th he just takes off.

From my experience they are not made to idle. They are race bikes. You can adjust the idle screw but being two strokes they are made to run flat out.I would clean the carb and if that was all good I would not worry about it and just ride.

Yeah, it will never idle as nicely as a car engine.

Think about it, all it is is a huge weed whacker engine. Think about how those run (or don't) at idle.

My oldest boy has a kx100 and it doesnt idle very well. Like someone said, its pretty much a racin bike. Assuming your is a two stroke I have found that my sons is very sensitive to the fuel/ oil mixture on how it idles. Your carb may need to be taken apart and cleaned. And when I clean the air filter and re oil it, it doesnt run very well until it pulls the excess oil out of the air filter, but that only takes a few minutes. They are high maintenance bikes.

2 strokes shouldnt idle, you should have enough time after giving it a little throttle to pull your goggles over your helmet before having to give it throttle again before it stalls, if you watch races, the pit crew guy is keeping the bike running while the racer is getting his helmet and goggles on. if you raise it to idle, it will run like crap and have bad throttle response
