I currently have a 84 Bronco II with the 2.8 and a 5 speed out of an 85 Ranger...it started life as an auto but when the auto died I converted her over with help from a few friends :)
I'm wanting to do a v8 conversion as cheaply as possible and prefer a 5speed...but cost decides everything :)...
I have an 86 BroncoII 2.9 4X4 with a blown rear end. I believe it is just the ring and pinion gears but have options for replacement. 1. just ring and pinion 2.posi unit as a whole with ring and pinion gears attached 3.complete axle assembly. I have never opened a rear end like this but am not...
My first experience with the good old B2 was memorable... lol. I had an 84, and since the day I sent her to the scrap yard in the sky, the itch for another one has been in my head.... I really dig the 4.0, and 4.0 swapped B2's, but the sound of a 2.9 attempting to move brings a tear of happiness...
Hi, I've got an 89 BII 4x4, and I'm looking to do a cheap lift on it. I've got some F150 coils and from searching on here and reading the tech post if I understood it, I am only going to need F150 shocks, and adjustable camber bushings to do the lift. Is there a specific year/size I should be...
Just an old hippie tryin' ta keep it together in today's world. Been around the world and back a couple times courtesy of Uncle Sam. Retired from the U.S. Navy in '94, was a jet mechanic and flight engineer. Still wrenching on aircraft for the Navy as a contractor. Even do it at home on my cars...
89 bronco II 2.9 under 100k on the odometer.
Okay so I knew I had some sort of leak in the tranny as I had to add to it some months ago. I could not track down the leak though. Here's the thing.. the bronco II does not leave any oil spots where I park at home.. none.
So like 4 weeks ago I...
My 1984 B2 is flooding itself after running for about 2 minutes. I think the problem may be the evap can filling with gas. If i was to run a hose from the evap out let on top to my tank, would it work like a return line and stop the carb from flooding out?
I posted this once before but have some better information now. My bronco seems to run fine for about 30 seconds up to 2 minutes and then the idle gets super rough. About 15 seconds after that it stalls out and won't start for about 20 minutes. What could all of a sudden make a good running 2.8...
Having trouble with my 1988 B2 transmission, it up-shifts fine, but can't hardly get it to down-shift! Had a clutch kit installed, but it still doesn't work right. Any suggestions of what I can check next, or do I just need a whole new transmission? Thanks for any help and advice!

Went to start up by 84 B2 this morning and it ran fine for about 30 seconds. At that point it started to idle rough and about a minute later stalled. It will run normally if you hold your foot down on the gas pedal just a little bit. I took of my air cleaner and noted there was some fuel spray...
I want to swap my 2.9 in my ford bronco II for the 5.0l v8 fuel injected 302. first time doing a swap and could use the help on what i need, and how to do it.
The auto choke is long gone. Only parts for that removed were the heater itself and the idle advance equipment. I want to remove all of the spaghetti that I can. What else do you think can be pulled out and keep it as my DD?
It's a 1984 B2 2.8 v6 4x4.
Manual EVERYTHING!
Thanks!
Hey there forum, I am about to undertake a engine swap from a 2.8L '85 bronco II (Automatic) and swap it into a 84 bronco II (standard). If you got and tips or tricks or things I gotta look out for that would be great. Any help would be fantastic and met with great thanks.

Greetings all: I have a 17 year old son who is in Boy Scouts. One of the Scout parents has an '87 Bronco II Eddie Bauer with only 103,000 miles and in excellent condition that he wants to sell for $1500. I think it is a great deal. My only concern is that the truck has only lap belts in the...
I have a 85 Bronco II that my clutch just started slipping on. Is there a way to adjust the free play in my clutch? There is absolutely no free play which I am pretty sure is where my problem is coming from.
My 2.8 has nothing left. I have decided the 4.0L is the best motor to drop in that is affordable has plenty of power and has good fuel millage. I could use any input that you have on performing the swap. What year 4.0 is the best to swap in, what are the easiest mods to do to the motor before i...
Hello!!
I finally bit the bullet and joined you...the largest RBV site on the net!
I figured it was time to graduate from years of lurking on here to become a member and join the ranks.
My friends call me Bones, and I wheel an 86 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. My now wife bought the Deuce for a DD...
