Well you certainly gave more than I already knew about smaller engines. You sold me on an idea. I'm gonna put you on speed dial. If a fella was gonna look for an engine to build in the 2.9 family to fit my truck, what should I be looking for and what should I shun? Casting numbers and such.

I was wondering what year 4.0 would basically bolt up to my tranny. I have the M50D transmission with the BW13-50 transfer case. I am not looking to do anything on the running gear until next spring. I wanted to get a jump on the engine work this winter.
