Reverse lights not working from N to R

'96 ranger, 3.0, 4x2 extended cab, 4r44e. Problem I'm having is the reverse lights come on when shifting from P to R, but don't come on when shifting from N to R. They did work a month ago. Anyone seen this before?

    My DUH moment!

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet, probably just too simple for anyone to miss except me. '96 ranger 3.0 2x4 extended cab with 4r44e. Before you decide to pull apart your tranny, check your coolant level. My trans was slipping between 2nd and 3rd gears when it was warmed up and...

    Wish i would've asked first!!!

Ok, so I want to separate the cargo light from the interior light switch. Running 2 led bulbs I figure I can wire directly from a power source through a SPST switch to the lights. Ok where is that pesky blk/pnk wire? Oh, here it is. Down the B pillar to the floor. Oh well, live and learn.

    Electrical question

This is a little involved and maybe stupid but, here it goes. 2 scenarios: #1, You have a relay to let's say a light bar. Across the coil, 85 is wired to ground and power is run to a switch then down to 86. #2, same relay, same light bar. Wire from source through a fuse to 86. 85 is wired to...

    Pull left

Had to brake fairly hard this morning and my truck drifted to the left. I say drifted because there was no pull on the steering wheel. Could this be caused by the rear drums? Just looking for a starting point.

    Replace oil pump?

99 3.0 4x2 115,000 miles. Just wondering since I have the engine out. How vital is it to change the oil pump? I have a leak on the pan gasket which I'll change. I really need the $100 for other parts but could scrape something together if really needed.

    Broken Head Bolt

I was installing the driver side head and broke the last bolt on the bottom closest to the firewall. It broke off uneven below the top of the block, and when I tried to drill it out the hole ended up being off so an easy out won't work. I'm at the point I may have to use a thread insert. Is...

    Cooling system woes

96 3.0 automatic rwd Pressure building in cooling system. Unable to squeeze upper hose. Does not overheat. Does not push coolant into overflow tank. It does draw it back in when cooling. Does loose water when capped. No evidence of where it is going. (No white smoke, exterior leaks, etc.)...

Am I OCD, bored or genius?

I can't be the only one that has ever thought this, but has anyone ever done it? I seriously want to color code my engine bay and I wish manufacturers would do this. Using paint, tape, plasti-dip or whatever else I can use. I mean, as example, all parts that have water will be blue. A/C system...

Damn it, I'm becoming a junkyard junkie!

:D I can't help myself lately. All I want to do is lookup projects for my truck and hit the junkyard. I love grabbing good stuff that others pass over. Hard to find good rangers in So. Cal. but most out here don't know that explorers crossover.
