    Can USB cords be spliced?

It's as strong as regular solder as far as I know. Melts and reflows just like the traditional stuff.

    Can USB cords be spliced?

Try a hot air rework station some time if you get the chance. Just apply the solder paste in the general area it needs to go, point the hot air at it, and it wicks onto the solder pads like magic.

Not in the same way at all.

    Vintage tire changer?

Nice. I've used my HF stand (like a simplified version of that without the pneumatic setup) a bit and it's worked well.

    Recommendations for replacement stereo?

I generally agree with the above post. You can now buy a -very- adequate double DIN radio to fit your stock dash that includes Bluetooth and all the basic features for a reasonable price. Even name brands aren't expensive for their lower tier products.

    HEADERS

Edelbrock made the 'tubular exhaust system' headers for years, but I don't know how long it's been since they stopped. Could be a decade or more.

    Simple things you hate doing?

I've bounced back and forth on maintenance. I enjoy working on things if I can do it on my own schedule. When too much breaks at once it stops being a fun distraction and starts being just one more thing on my plate. At that point I'll farm things out to a local shop I trust as needed.

CA Mandates all trucks must be electric beginning in 2024

I couldn't quickly find anything resembling official numbers for the battery packs, but there were some credible guesses in the 12-15k pound weight range. Given the reduction in weight of the powerplant itself, a lot of that is offset. Looked like closer to a 4-5 thousand pound difference in...

CA Mandates all trucks must be electric beginning in 2024

Am I understanding you correctly that you're estimating fifty thousand pounds for the batteries 'and stuff'?

I wonder if it's for driver teams?

CA Mandates all trucks must be electric beginning in 2024

Rusty - it's worth mentioning (again) that the OP did not interpret the article correctly. The new law only requires manufacturers to offer an electric version in four years. It's not for another 25 years that they're mandating entirely electric. And what benefit is a 1500 mile range...

2019 Ranger Ecoboost Oil Change Interval

Me too. I look forward to sending an oil sample to them whenever I get the '99 back together. Been a while since I've gotten a report from them.
