87 Ranger V8 swapped drag race only. Had to add a vacuum canister to work the power brakes since my camshaft makes very little vacuum. Problem is that just added weight I now want to get rid of. I need to swap out the power brakes for manual and I need to know how it's done properly. Do I use...
Got another pic from our track photographer yesterday. He apologized for cutting off the back end but it's still a cool action pic. That's not too far off the starting line since the front bumper of that burger van is right in line with the stage beam.
Trying out a new graphics program so I decided to make a calendar. Uploaded it to Vistaprint and a few days later we had a 16"X24" version come in the mail
Spent the morning making a load of potato salad and cooking a enormous ham for the annual Christmas eve feast at our Grand-daughter's house and a visit with the great-grandkids.
Got my Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame 2024 Inductee "bling" today. Don't really feel like I deserve it but I will gladly take the recognition for the small part I play in this sport.
Anyone have a photo of a 1st gen Ranger with the front bumper taken off? I'm trying to lighten up the front end to help my front/rear weight bias. Just trying to save myself some work - I don't want to take it off and have it look dumb then have to put it back on again.
Got another pic from our track photographer today. This one only a couple feet off the starting line and it looks like our Lakewood 90/10 front shocks are doing what they are supposed to.
Also had a great honour bestowed on me this past weekend. I was inducted into the Maritime Motorsports...

Saw all the photos of the build but I can't find the parts list he posted. All I really want to know is what year Explorer were the front spring mounts for? Rest of it is just chassis shop parts or easily fabricated.
I remember seeing a thread where a guy with a green Ranger moved his rear springs to the frame and documented the job with a parts list and all. Now I can't find it and would like to get another look. Anyone able to post a link to it for me?
I'm not concerned with aerodynamics since the truck is 100% 1/8 mile and we're only doing 100mph and that's even with a big tailwind. Photo below is less than a foot off the starting line and the suspension is topped out front and rear. It tends to settle back down around 100ft out and the nose...
Been told many times I should lower the Ranger but to me that's a hard NO - Why should I pay $844.50 CDN for DJM I-beams + $83.59 for the rear axle flip kit + $194.49 for new CalTrac flip plates(Total $1,122.58) and have it do NOTHING for my ET? That kind of $$ would buy a bunch more horsepower....
