What about mildly soapy water, followed by clear water to rinse away the soap?...

    >> Is it possible for ALTERNATOR to squeal only under belt tension?...

JUST now discovered the "new" MEGASEARCH feature (how long has THAT been around?), and that returned quite a few results... will crawl through them later... PS: it's times like these make ya miss the old-school pre-serpentine engines, with 2 or 3 separate belts!

... but freewheel fast and quiet with the belt off? Chasing down a squeal, can't find my stethoscope, started with the belt OFF to rule out the dreaded CMP shaft--all QUIET there... ... swapped out both idler and tensioner pulleys with a spare I had (from a previous squeak-chase, lol...), but...

So there must several MAZDA (car) seats that also fit Ye Olde Rangers...?

What about the Ford Probe GT/Mazda MX-6 "twins"... cool seats? Ranger-compatible?

    >> Seat SQUEAK on std. 60/40's... CUTAWAY diagram available?

In search of lube-points, I guess I'm in search of a "cutaway anatomy chart" of the super-common 60/40 bench-bucket masterpiece! :icon_welder:

    >> Seat SQUEAK on std. 60/40's... CUTAWAY diagram available?

I've used silicone spray to remedy the door-latch/dome-light combo switch issue, and also the door exterior key-lock getting stiff... I guess it would be "heavy" enough for an infrequently-used joint like the seatback adjuster... hmmm... for completeness I will go bounce around in my passenger...

So there must several MAZDA (car) seats that also fit Ye Olde Rangers...?

I've read on this fine forum about Ford-compatible seats going all the way back to the 80s vintage Turbo T-bird Coupe, plus later models of Fusion, Focus, Escort, Merkur-derivatives, etc... ... but the Ford-Mazda partnership/model-twinning goes back to at least 1980(?), so I'm guessing there's...

Trusty XL 4x4 is a '99, but only 88k miles, ALL of its life in hot (and mostly humid) places... figure the factory lube just dried up or melted away... or the adjustable seat-back tilt-joint is RUSTED? Annoying as heck, squeak-squeak on every little bump, or any time I shift in the seat... I'm...

NOTICE TRS Vinyl Decals, Windshield Banners, Patches & Key Chains!

No matter which side the stick-um goo goes on, I wouldn't know, cuz I NEVER got my free sticker (back when) cuz Oaks-comma-Jim said my shipping address made his database eh-SPLODE... but now I have a new address, hopefully less volatile. :D:rolleyes:

New reflective/thermal blanket for evap housing?

Yeah, kind of odd that the OEM "blanket" is only on the side facing the engine, because when the hood is down, especially when stationary, I mean isn't the heat pretty much the same EVERYwhere? It seems the design of the box itself is the main insulation. Have something similar in stock, may...

Err, umm, there's this brand-new wowie-zowie technology where the banner/sticker/decal goes on the INside of the window, NOT out in the weather or subject to the windshield wipers or squeegees wielded by angry beavers... #NowYouKnow! ;)

EZ OIL DRAIN VALVE... a few quick questions.

RE: shims, spacers, crush-washers... I think I've got it covered... sent my trained rat into the rat's nest, and he came back with: Fel-Pro nylon Ford-V6-specific washer (Part #72515), about 0.085" thick, and from the M5OD maintenance episode, aluminum crush washers ~70 mils thick, and copper...

Indeed it should be easy to lefty-loosey an oil drain plug (isn't the official torque spec. only 20 ft-lbs.?...), BUT... about half the time I let "the shop" change mah oil+filter, and they must use Ye Olde Air Impact Driver to tighten it 'cause I'm under there with the breaker bar and the...
