the flip kit alone will place the axle within 2 inches of the chassis. for 5+ inch rear drops a mini notch is recommended to recover some of the rear travel you'll loose. mini notches just bolt right up to the frame.

One of my buddies said (key word: said, i can't back up this claim) that a while back one of his friends in utah bought a new eb f150 and that winter his wife wrapped it around a pole so he stuck the engine in an 01+ std cab ranger. Idk if he was telling the truth though haha
to keep awd you would have to swap the whole explorer suspension in your truck. so you have to ask your self if thats cheaper than buying a 2wd trans and worth the hassle.
or you could just pull a turbocoupe engine and throw it in a ranger its probably better than ebay kits. and no you'll encounter way more problems than what its worth trying to do a duratec swap

it may be valid but it's my thread. you're new here you probably havent run into issues with thread jacking yet haha. and as far as a $75 jy rear end goes alot of times you must recondition the rear end, unless you get lucky. trust me a 7.5 will hold up to the 2.3's power all day with no issues...
stock torsion keys can go around 1-2 inches iirc, i've heard of lowerin keys for them. except this is with the edge suspension i don't know how low you can go without running into binding issues with the cv's maybe?
i've seen a near 4-5 drop on an edge i just cant remember how they did it though
