I know the fuel filler neck has a small crack in it so when I fill the tank to fill it leaks a small bit like maybe a few drops but nothing major. Maybe that??

I’m assuming the pickup line is on the fuel pump right? Or sending unit to the fuel pump?

essentially it hesitates and backfires on low fuel. Anything under 8 to 6 gallons it starts not wanting to act right until I fill it back up

So then what do you think would cause my issue? It’s a 92 2.3l that runs good until it’s at about half a tank of gas then it starts sputtering and spitting and hesitating like it’s not getting fuel but as soon as I pull over to fill it back up to fill it runs great again…

so if there was a disconnect in between the small line and the charcoal canister it would cause the truck to sputter and act as if it’s not getting fuel?
